Our Program

Step 1 - Initial Evaluation:

The first step in our program is a COMPREHENSIVE EVALUATION.  This involves a sensorimotor exam by the doctor, followed by a series of visual processing tests given by the vision therapist.  The doctor will then go over the eye health with the vision therapist who will also score all of the testing.

After testing is complete, the vision therapist will sit down with the patient or parents/guardians of the patient and review all of the testing, eye health findings, and our vision therapy program.

The entire evaluation visit can take 1.5 to 2 hours.  We will of course answer any questions you have and you are more than welcome to contact us if you need any more information about the evaluation, program, or just vision therapy itself.  In addition, we will write a report that includes the test scores and findings and email it to you.

Evaluations are offered Tuesday-Thursday on the hour (availability is subject to doctor and therapist's schedule.)

Step 2 - Our Program:

Our vision therapy program consists of a one-on-one 45 minute weekly visit with the vision therapist.  We will assign at-home activities to be done five days out of the week for which we provide all equipment and instruction needed.  Your visits are scheduled out on the same hour and day of every week.  We are flexible with schedule changes however they are subject to availablity.

In Vision Therapy the bond and trust between the therapist and patient is just as important as the activities themselves.  Therefor, the patient will work with the same vision therapist throughout the entire program and sessions will always be one-on-one.  This consistancy is also much more successful in working with patients who have learning disabilities or behavioral problems.

Throughout the program we have three progress evaluations where a sensorimotor exam is done by the doctor and visual processing tests by the vision therapist.  We compare the numbers/scores to previous evals and go over any progress or changes with the patient or parents/guardians.  The last session of the program includes final testing, review for whether or not any supplemental therapy is needed, and if not - graduation!

Once the program has been completed we will send you another report outlining all of the test changes/progress seen through the evaluations.  We will also do any follow ups needed to check on academic, sport, or lifestyle improvements.

We offer sessions between 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM Monday-Thursday scheduled on the hour (subject to availability.)
