I began my optical career in 2004 and earned certification through the American Board of Opticianry in 2010. As our clinic team lead I am happy to answer all of your questions, seeking to find a quality solution for every optical need. I work hard to make sure each patient feels at ease during their pre-testing process and enjoy assisting in finding the perfect eyewear for your lifestyle. My goal is to provide each patient with personalized eye care while upholding the prompt and professional service you deserve.
I like to spend my free time going on outdoor hiking adventures, watching football, taking fun family trips and meeting new friends. I also enjoy painting, reading and watching scary movies!
Enriqueta has been in the optical business ten years this year. She is ABO certified and loves every aspect of the field, but her expertise and passion is in the optical. She enjoys helping her patients find the perfect frame and lenses to suit their lifestyle.

Teresa is a TSO Supertech dedicated to providing quality care to every patient she meets. Her retirement after seventeen years in the field of education was short lived as her passion for learning new things led her to take on the challenge of beginning a new career as an optometric technician. She’s currently working on her CPOA certification to further her knowledge in the field.
She married her high school sweetheart and they have a son, two dogs and two cats. She and her husband have been involved in ministry since 1990 and in 2004 they started a home church where they continue to serve the community. When she’s not hard at work, she likes spending time in her vegetable garden and sharing the fruits of her labor with family and friends. She enjoys a variety of music genres and is seriously considering going from playing percussion instruments to playing drums! She loves to BBQ and entertain those near and dear to her.

Hello, my name is Rachel Kirby and I have been working for Dr. Nielsen for almost 4 years now as a Optometric Technician and Patient Care Coordinator. I enjoy working in the optometry field because I get to help others have the best optical experience, enriching them with vital information about their ocular health and making sure that they are well taken care of. Working in the Optometry field inspired me to become an Optometrist. I am currently in the process of applying to Optometry school & hopefully get to attend in the fall.
I just got married to the love of my life, Aaron, this year and married life is pretty awesome. We love to travel, hike, eat, and visit different coffee shops. I love spending time with my family and friends and serving at my church.
Michael has worked with Dr. Nielsen for over two years, helping manage all aspects of her businesses and acting as her representative. With over 11 years of experience as a personal and executive assistant, Michael brings peace of mind and structure to our doctor’s busy life, allowing her to focus on providing excellent patient care for you and your family. While currently spending the majority of his time in our new Oak Run location, he can also be found at Dr. Nielsen’s Texas State Optical in Schertz where we continue to bring multi-generational family eye care to our neighboring community.
Michael and his wife have two dogs, a labrador and maltese, and are currently building a house in the New Braunfels area where they are looking forward to calling home. When scheduling free time, he and his wife love traveling, exploring different cultures and foods, and meeting new people.
